School Description and Mission Statement

Located in the Bay view Hunters Point area, this year RISE Institute will celebrate its 20th year of providing quality education to disadvantaged children/youth.  The school strives to develop techniques and programs which creatively address the on going needs for at-risk children, adolescents and their families in our ever changing communities.  

RISE Institute is proud of its legacy of offering troubled children/youths an alternative to traditional schools as a means of completing their education.  RISE Institute historically has provided quality services to clients and their families through an ever evolving array of program services.  The following psycho-educational non-public school programs are available to our clients and families: 1) small protective setting, 2) group and individual counseling, 3) substance abuse counseling, 4) speech and language therapy, 5) art and music therapy, 6) role play therapy, 7) access to one-on-one instruction, 8) life skills training, 9) community access, 10) parent support groups, 11) young men’s  group 12) young women’s groups, 13) coordinated services planning and 14) door to door transportation.  We are a part of the State of California Workability I Program.  We also offer an After School Tutorial Program, Mentorship Programs and Community Support Programs.

Our Goal is to consistently provide well managed programs that directly influence the future well being and hopes of our clients, through the use of psycho-educational programming which has direct positive influence on our client’s daily lives and future productivity.  Several of our graduates continue to participate in various sectors of our society including, college programs, vocational programs, skilled and unskilled professions, and most importantly, positive relationships with friends, family and society.
